Richard from Replacement keys contacted me to apologise, explain what went wrong and to be fair issued a refund. It is imperative that readers fully understand that Richard DID NOT ask me to withdraw or edit my previous review. However on the grounds of "Fair Play" I decided to re-review the original and publish the explanation I received. He stated that, they in fact did answer my emails but perhaps I didn't receive them, Spam, Junk etc. As I use a Hotmail account and this in fact did happen in the past, I am prepared to accept his word. However it is a very rare occurence and I would also invite Replacement Keys to look further into their own mailing system. The key that I received was dispatched very quickly, packaged very well and extremly competitive in price. I believe that they will watch customer service more closely and I will use them again. Lesson learned for all parties and we can move on with a more positive approach. The only reason they are losing 1 star now is because the key didn't work. | |

I recently purchased an ignition key for a Johnson outboard motor, key No.51, which to be fair they promptly dispatched. It's when I experienced a problem with the key and requested support the real customer service raised its ugly head. No reply to four emails whatsoever. Used various contact methods but all to absolutely no avail. Basically the key shipped to us had no reference to Johnson No.51 so we couldn't tell whether a wrong key was shipped in error or the correct key was shipped and I would have to further investigate our issue. Borrowed a No.51 key from another customer and it worked fine. On that basis I can only assume that the replacement key provided by "replacement keys.co.uk" was either badly cut or the wrong key was sent. I run a boatyard conducting many marine related services and the end result was that I provided a whole new ignition barrel and key in order to get my customer on the water. This was done at the boatyards expense as I felt our customer was being seriously inconvenienced. I will never again use "replacement keys.co.uk" and I certainly will not recommend them to anyone. Someone from an online boat forum kindly passed on the link for Replacement Keys Ltd. and within days I received a starter key and two blanks to enable me to have the door keys cut locally. Fantastic service and I would fully recommend them and will use them going forward for any key requirements. | |
